Frequently Asked Questions
The extension isn't muting words anymore!
Ensure you haven't hit your daily "Basic" tier limit (10 videos/day). If you are on the Unlimited plan, make sure you are logged into the extension. Click the extension puzzle piece in your browser toolbar to verify your active subscription status.
Does this work on mobile or without the Chrome Extension?
Yes! Our web player at wedontsaythat.net works on any device — phones, tablets, and desktops — in any browser, with no extension required. Simply paste or search for a YouTube link directly on our homepage and the filtering happens automatically. The Chrome Extension additionally mutes profanity while you browse YouTube.com natively on desktop Chrome.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
You can instantly change your tier, update your billing card, or cancel your subscription at any time by clicking the "Manage Subscription" button in the Chrome Extension popup, or by navigating directly to our Account Portal.
Why don't some videos get filtered?
Our engine relies entirely on YouTube's Closed Captions (CC) to identify profanity timing. If a video does not have any captions (English, Auto-generated, or Manual), we cannot calculate when to mute.
I heard a bad word that wasn't muted!
Occasionally, video creators "edit" their captions to hide profanity (changing "F***" to "####" in text) but leave the audio untouched. Since we "see" the text of the captions to know when to mute, we won't trigger a mute if the bad word has been scrubbed from the CC track while remaining in the video audio.
